I thought the concept of 'Inkheart' was really interesting. I like the idea of reading characters out of stories, and the characters in this book were extremely colourful. On the whole I enjoyed 'Inkheart' but I did find it overly descriptive and too long. It could have been about 100 pages shorter. On the whole, it's probably more a story for kids and teenagers than for adults. Adults can enjoy it but it doesn't have the same kind of gritty action as 'The Golden Compass' for example, or perhaps it's just the long descriptions that slow down the action. The language is catered more towards kids as well. I give it 3 and a half stars.
