Not Her Best
I usually enjoy Jodi Picoult's novels, but I can't say I enjoyed this one. As usual, her subject matter was a confronting issue, child abuse. As hard as that subject is to read about, it wasn't that that made me dislike the book, but the controlling nature of the Mother. As the book continued I found it harder and harder to like her. Plus, the plot became overly complicated with various relationship twists. It seemed to drag on and on and I thought the book would never end. I will definitely read another Jodi Picoult novel, but unfortunately this one disappointed me and I give it two and a half stars.
